Mrs. Amber Ray

Hey there, White Plains Middle School Wildcats!

I’m Amber Ray, and I have the absolute joy of serving as your principal!

My journey in education began right here at White Plains over two decades ago, teaching bright-eyed 3rd graders and later diving into the exciting world of 5th grade Science and Math. Those early years sparked a passion for learning and leadership that eventually led me to earn my Educational Specialist degree in School Administration. Since then, I’ve served as an administrator at both Weaver Elementary and Saks Elementary—but my goal when I began this principal journey was to make it pack to White Plains and I'm so thrilled to be here!

Now, as we kick off year four together at White Plains Middle, I can honestly say: there's no place like home. I’m incredibly proud to lead a school full of passionate educators and the most amazing students in Alabama—you all make every single day worth it!

Outside of school, I’m wife to Mr. L.P. Ray and mom to two incredible White Plains graduates—Gracie and Coleman—who are both currently cheering on the Tigers as students at Auburn University (War Eagle!).

This school year promises to be one filled with growth, joy, and endless possibilities. I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together. Let’s make it unforgettable, Wildcats!

Mrs. Erin Thielker

I am so excited to be a part of the WILDCAT family. I have been an educator since 2005. I spent 8 years in a K-3 classroom. In 2012, I began working on my EDS in ESL and was hired as the ESL Specialist for Talladega City Schools.  Through those experiences I knew that I wanted to begin working towards being an administrator. In 2019 I completed my addition to my Master's degree in Administration.  In 2021, I was given the opportunity to be your Assistant Principal here at WPMS. It has been such a blessing to serve this community. 

I am married to Matt Thielker. We have two daughters, who attend school at White Plains Elementary and White Plains High. We enjoy attending our daughter's sports and cheering on the Lady Wildcats. My hobbies include running, traveling, spending time with my family, and reading. I am so excited about another school year beginning and all the wonderful things we will accomplish together at White Plains Middle School.
